Welcome

The Civil Divorce

The sensible approach to a new life

Save time, stress, expense

Have you ever heard anything good about a divorce war? It's ugly, expensive, and often      pointless, since 98% of divorces settle before trial. If you want to avoid a nasty divorce, get         what you deserve, and get on with your life, you may benefit from one of these divorce services:

                                      •  Uncontested/No-fault                      Divorce mediation

                                      •  Partial services/coaching             Full representation

3 Ways My Practice is Different

1. Basic belief: if possible, avoid court. I believe that every option should be pursued     before running off to court. A divorce war can ruin a family and cost thousands. Only two       types of people favor it: those who have never been through it, and those who stand to make         a lot of money off you. Avoid these people.

2. Fixed fee. Most divorce lawyers bill by the hour. They keep track of their time, and bill         for all of it, including phone calls, e-mails, and everything in between. But with hourly billing, you'll have no way of knowing what your final cost will be. And hourly billing creates no   incentive for a lawyer to work toward a quick and efficient result.

I think there's a better way. When you and I first meet, I'll tell you exactly what the total          cost for a full-service divorce will be. No extra charges for phone calls, letters, e-mails,                   or anything else.

For an estimate of the fee in your case, please call or e-mail me. I'll ask you a few questions, and then be able to give you an estimate. After we meet and I learn more about       your particular situation, I'll be able to give you an exact quote. For more information,           please see the page "Questions About Fees."

3. Specialization. My practice is limited to Massachusetts divorce & family law. It's not something I happen to dabble in as part of a general practice.

A personal note...

I’ve tried to make this site honest, simple, and informative. I hope you find it helpful. If you'd like  to discuss anything, please e-mail or call me. There’s no charge.

Whatever you decide, I wish you the best.
